Mito is a comparable small city 100km north of Tokyo, Destroyed by US bombardments end of WWII.. But it has a few sights which are really nice:
- Kaira-Kuen Gardens as one of the 3 famous Japanese gardens
- Tokiwa Jinja Shrine
- Mito Art Tower as a modern monument
I could use one afternoon to take some photos there and found it amazing.
Sakura is Japanese and stands for the Cherry Blossom.... But in case of Kaira-Kuen it is maybe not correct because there are plenty of plum trees as well. Everything was flowering - and I am botanically underexposed....
